I got a letter in the mail from the dean at Barry today (it was postmarked on the 20th). Its not a rejection letter. It states," Thank you for applying to BUSPM. I would like to extend you a warm welcome to you and encourage you to gain further insight into our educational program." Is this a letter for an interview? They game me the number of the Assistant Director of Admissions, Amy Major, but she is out on maternity leave. Plus the school is closed for Easter since the 21st. I haven't received an email from the school either. What should I make of this letter? Any input would be appreciated!!!!

I received that same letter from the dean yesterday and was wondering the same thing. I haven't received any email notification either. I will be calling on Monday for sure.

I did not receive any letter by mail for an interview. They are supposed to email you saying to schedule an interview. But anyways I would call and ask.

Good Morning,

For the letter that you receive from us at Barry, it is the inital welcome letter thanking you for your application. What this typically means is we have received your application and it is currently being reviewed. 🙂

You will hear within a week regarding an interview. Best of luck all..

-Amy
Asst. Director for BUSPM admissions

I also received that same letter. I called on Monday April 25, and spoke to Urmala. She told me the same thing that Amy explained above and said that my application would be reviewed in the next few days. Urmala also said that I should hear back from them regarding an interview by the beginning of this week, but I have not gotten anything from Barry yet. She told me to call the school this week to find out about the status of my application if I had not received the interview invite e-mail. I called yesterday and she had a recording saying that she won't be back in the office until May 9th. I also called Solange and she had the same recording. Did anybody that received that letter in the past two weeks get an interview invite yet?

Hey Belly Dancer,

I'm sorry that you are a bit annoyed.. Urmala and Solange are assisting me while I am out of the office on maternity leave. They are in our Continuing Medical Education Department. This week is our National Board Exam and they will be out of the office until next week. Have no fear, your application is in the process of being reviewed and they will be getting everything sent out next week. If you would like, send me an e mail [email protected] and I will see what I can do for you from home.. I make a point to check my e mail every couple of days. I do apologize for the inconvience, but I certainly hope to have the chance to meet you.
