Letter from Dean

I would like to know how important this is as compared to Professors who actually worked with you. Also the truth is I doubt the Dean would write a favorable letter considering I argued with him on my last day in front of everyone in a real shouting match.

For most advanced standing programs, the Dean's letter is mandatory. Try to get one with a 'neutral' tone at least.
