Letter of intent/interest

Im on the IS waitlist at CSU and they did not send out rankings. My good friend from college that's going to Med school told me that maybe I should write a letter of intent and update them on what I've been doing to better myself since I applied and how I am still very interested in going. Is this something that is discouraged against?

That’s not really a thing that is done in vet med. I wouldn’t waste your time.

i’ve done it and the admissions director for upenn said they received a ton. so take that as you will

It's not going to harm your status, but it's also unlikely to help you, so I agree with Jayna.
Much more common in human med.
