Letter of Intent

I was wondering if someone could guide me through the proper way to write a letter of intent. Should the letter be mailed or emailed? What would an acceptable length be?

I would say Mail it, and anything upto 1 page long.
Just explain to them why you want to go there, how you are a good fit, and what has changed in your application to make you more competitive.
