Letter of interest for waitlist

Hello, is it recommended to send letters of interest to schools you are waitlisted at, and if so are there guidelines for what the letters should contain? Also, for most of the schools I am WL at, I already wrote a "why this school" essay in the secondary, so I am concerned about a LOI having redundant information.

The schools know you're interested because you applied and came tot he interview.

Do said schools accept LOIs?

Most admissions deans treat them as lies.
