Hoping for some advice. I'm wondering when is most appropriate to send a letter of interest post-interview. I recently interviewed at Quinnipiac, which I would (obviously) love to attend. I'm assuming that they know I'm interested, and that a letter right now would be redundant...? Should I wait until I hear back at the end of October? Or send a letter of interest prior to their decision?

Thanks!
Sincerely,

They know you're interested and they interviewed you, so an additional letter without any updates won't move the needle.

Send a brief thank you note if you didn't already do so, but if you did hang tight. Consider an update later in the season if you have anything meaningful to add.

What about a school like Mayo, which specifically requests LOIs? Is it better to send them shortly after the interview, or much closer to decision time?

Mayo is, of course, the exception that proves the rule. If a school specifically asks for you to fawn over them, do so.

The exact timing likely doesn’t matter

Did you send a post-interview thank-you note? That works for now.

Maybe if you interviewed in August, you could send a "hey bro" note recapping what you remember from your interview day and any follow-ups since. But they know you are interested because they interviewed you. Don't push your advantage. Be prepared for their decision (accept, waitlist, reject), but move on.

Keep up your homework:
