Just a few quick questions:

Do I need to have all of my letters of rec into AMCAS before I submit my primary?

I am taking the MCAT June 18th. I have not taken it before. Can I submit my primary sometime before or soon after that date, before my scores come back? My understanding is that I can, but the schools won't start reviewing my app until those scores are in. So I would log my June 18th MCAT as a future date on the aamcas, and be able to submit my app after June 2. Correct?

Does it matter whether or not I submit my application before transcripts have been received?

Thank you!

I called AMCAS the other day to ask about the same LOE question. You DO NOT have to have your letters in before you submit your primary. It's probably best to get them in before or right as you send in secondaries, however. Once you get letters in, you designate which schools you want to recieve which letters, and you then "re-submit" your app, which updates it and allows schools access to the letters you have marked for them.

Also, from previous posts on SDN, it does seem like yes, you can submit your primary to get grades verified, etc. before you get the MCAT, but it won't be until around July 18th that schools will consider your application complete.

Your application won't be considered complete until you have transcripts verified by AMCAS, so you should get them in ASAP. I would call AMCAS though to clarify, as I'm a bit unsure about this one.

Hope that helps!
