1. It takes however long the post office takes to deliver it (usually 5 days).
2. LORs are sent to all the schools once your application is sent out. If your application was sent out already, LORs will be mailed out during the next mailing.
3. Who knows... AADSAS sends out your application through the mail which normally takes 5 days. But we're talking about AADSAS so LORs can get there in 5 days or sometimes NEVER.
4. LORs should ideally get there the same time your application gets there. That way your application can be processed by the schools right away.
5. Go ahead and get your professors to send them in as soon as possible. Usually a month is enough time for them. Visit them now and then to make sure they send them out.

Of the two professors I asked for letters, each told me it would take about a month to write his letter. One professor took three months and the other took four months. You really have to ask them early and stay on them to complete the letters (at least form what I've seen).

Be polite, but stay on your professors. My O-chem I prof. promised to right me a letter and then a month later he had cleaned out his office, left campus and changed his phone number. Luckily my O-chem II prof came through for me and did a letter in 3 days.

Another question about recs -
Is anyone currently (or has in the past) using Interfolio for their recs, and if yes, since the letters of rec are sent to AADSAS all as one package, do we still need to use the LOR matching forms? Or can we simply put our AADSAS ID on the cover letter that Interfolio mails to AADSAS along w/ all the LOR?

I have no idea how long LORs take to be sent and my teacher asks the deadline I need it to be sent by? I want to give her sufficient time but not too much time that she forgets. any input please.....

1 month is generally enough time to give a professor to write a LOR. By June would be fine.

I just asked my professors to write a lor for me
today. But i haven't taken DAT yet and planning
to apply in the middle of June or July. I heard that
we can take DAT after we submit the application
but can professors send lor before we even submit the
application??

1. As long as it takes for the USPS to deliever
2. Yes, but before they send the your packet, the have to have letters, verify transcripts--verification takes about a month or more.
3. Once they verify your transcripts, it is sent out to schools.
4. Before there deadlines in the least, but better to send asap so its out of the way!

You need to print the LOR form which must be coupled with the letters.

I did print the matching form and gave it to my professors.
