I need your help. I want to know what need to be said in a recommendation letter. I tried to get one from my universitys dean, but he doesnt know what to write. I need some sample of recommendation letter. Could anybody help me?

This is the classical "you write the letter and I sign the name" recommendation letter. One that would benefit you more if the letter is well written, since you have some control over what to put in. Consider that a bless!
You may be able to find some sample letters here and there on the internet. The best way is to google the key words such as dental school, recommendation letter and the kind. Someone in the SDN forum also posted his application package. I don't have the link but you should be able to find it without too much trouble.
But the letter is very personal and need to be tailor-made to match you as a person. The general scheme, of course, include the following:
1. How did the referee know the applicant?
2. what is the main character of the applicant?
3. How did the applicant do in the dental school, comparing to his/her peer students?
4. Examples to support why the referee think that the applicant will do well in the advanced standing program.

By the way, in Germany you guys don't need reference letters to get in the dental school? Just curious.....
