I think I made a huge mistake. 🙁
I asked a professor to write a letter of rec for me a month ago- and he did. The letter is sitting in a letter bank right now at school. But the thing is he's out of town right now and won't be back until the end of September.

So here's where the mistake is- I didn't really look at Pharmcas about LORs. All I knew was that it's new and pharmcas is sending our LORs out for us. So I looked thoroughly through pharmcas today and found out that there's an evaluation form that needs to be filled out.

I'm freaking out. My prof won't be back until the end of Sept, which means, the eval. will get there late. I'm applying to California schools and most of them are based on rolling admissions. I don't know what to do. =(
Any advice is appreciated.

First: breathe...relax...it will be okay.
Second: Print out the LOR form. Leave it with his assistant or in his mailbox. If you were that worried about it, you could shoot your prof an email and tell him what happened. If he typed his LOR, like he should have, you may be able to have him do the LOR online, and if he has the comp with him that he typed it on, he can attach it. But this is a LONG shot.

Good luck!

Ask another prof to write you a letter too. Then you'll have the new plus the old one when the prof gets back.

Thanks for all the advice. I've calmed down x10000000000000 times. 🙂

Just to double check,
Since PharmCas doesn't hold applications then I can just submit whenever I'm done with my parts, right? So that means it would be ok if my prof has to turn in my eval and LOR even after I submit?

Somebody, shoot me for not thoroughly reading instructions beforehand. I think I deserve the idiot of the year award. -_-

**** happens. It's good that you've managed to calm down; even when you've followed the instructions to the letter, it can still be a nerve-wracking process.

I encourage you to go ahead and submit your app if you're done. No sense waiting on LORs. Give your school a chance to start compiling your stuff. Good luck!!
