I graduated from college a couple of years ago and I will be applying this coming cycle. I know that most places require 2 letters from professors and maybe a DDS letter. I can get the dentist letter no problem but what approach should I take to get the other two? I figured I can maybe get one from the department head of bio (I was a bio major) even though the current head is different from the one that was there when I was a student, but I don't really know anyone else. I have a personal friend who has a PhD in biochemistry, maybe I can just have him write a generic letter for me? Would schools really care?

Also, how much emphasis is generally placed on LOR's? I have a 3.9 GPA and a 25 DAT, and I interview pretty well, but I suppose my letters are going to suck. Thanks!

I hope you made enough of an impression on some of your bio profs when you were in school for them to remember you.... I find most prof's tend to have surprisingly good memory when it comes to faces, especially if you did exceptionally well in their class.

Nah. There were so many bio majors that most classes, even upper levels, were large lecture format, and I usually did not go to class anyway. Smaller lab courses were taught by TA's.
