This may be a silly question, but it never hurts to ask. I've completed all sections of the primary AMCAS app, however am not sure as to how to deal with the Letters of Evaluation section. I was under the impression that primary applications did not include letters of rec., and that was part of the secondary applications. Do letters of rec. need to be uploaded by the applicant or a premed committee before his or her primary application is considered complete and will be viewed by adcoms? I'm really confused about this new feature added to the primary app., if anybody knows anything about this please help me out, thanks in advance!

p.s. go nuggets!

Bump?

I'm confused as well. Do I need to designate letters to specific medical schools when I submit the primary? Or can I do that later?

If it's the same as last year, no. Last year, only a few schools participated in the LOE thing on AMCAS and you could be verified without having your letters. You just had to make sure to get them in when the schools sent you secondaries.

I'm just concerned now because at least 100 schools participate in it now. Anyone have the definitive answer to this?

From the instruction booklet:
You can continue to add/assign letters after initial submission but you cannot edit or delete existing information after your initial submission.

From the instruction booklet:

Right gotcha, but is a primary application considered "complete" without any letters uploaded. Or will secondary applications be sent to us the applicants even without any letters being uploaded or sent in, and we just have to do so in order to complete our secondaries?

I think we will be complete without the letters in.
