Letters of Rec. Problem

As far as my letters of recommendation are concerned I think that I am in hot water. I think I have one really good LOR (I don't know because I waived my rights) however she is a professor in my minor and doesn't really know much about my psych work. My boss has agreed to write a letter of rec in which I did research and opened an exhibition at a major museum. It isn't psych related, but it was major work and I did a good job plus I am stretching with LOR's. I have two professors that I am doing research with this semester but I haven't really done much. I mean all the work is going to happen in november and december so they really can't attest to my work. However since I am working with them and it is included on my CV won't it look fishy if I don't have letters from the professors that I did research with? AND should I keep my boss's reference? Thanks!😳

What about psychology professors who you have taken classes from, especially stats or methods if you've done well in those courses? Or any small psychology classes like a seminar? Thesis?

I feel like the problem is they only know my grades from 1 or 2 classes. They don't know me personally. I am just starting my thesis, but I still feel that my advisor doesn't know me that well...I guess I'm being paranoid. I mean how well can your professors really know you anyway? right 🙁 ?

I would recommend (remember, this is just my opinion and may be worth nothing) that you have at least 1 LOR from one of the profs you are currently doing research with. Even, as you say the real work does not start for a month or two, you have been involved in the project to date, and they can certainly comment on your performance to date, your willingness to learn and current strengths and weaknesses. And, I really have no idea what you're referring to when you say the real work of the research project is starting in a month or two -- most involved in research know there are 'up' times and 'down' times, and being involved on the foundation of a study, involved in the design and implementation are the keys to the final product (remember, garbage in = garbage out).

I'd seriously consider including the LOR from your current boss -- especially if it can be framed in such a way to highlight your research skills in performing literature reviews, reviewing relevant publications in the field, seeking out second and third party resources etc.
