Hello everyone,

I originally turned in 3 letters on AADSAS. One from a chem professor, one from my research PI (which I also took 2 P/NP independent research quarters with), and one from a dentist. Most schools accept my research PI letter as bio letter so I am good with those schools. Others, however, like Michigan have asked for an additional bio letter. The good news is I was able to find one professor to write one for me (he was the only one that would). The bad news is he doesn't know me past the CV and personal statement I provided him. The even worse news is that he wrote my letter in a day. I'm assuming this is a sign of a "bad" letter. My question is is it ok to contact the schools I applied to and tell them to focus on my original 3 letters and not this recently uploaded one (except for the schools that specifically asked for another)? It seems like a bad idea, but it also seems like a bad idea not to. What if they mainly look at only the chem letter and the new bio letter? I know my research PI letter is much better because I actually know my PI and he knows me.
Another thing to know about me is that I recently added more schools...so these schools will see all 4 letters at once and may use the actual bio letter over my preferred bio letter.

There's a difference between a bad letter and a letter that's not good. I don't think your bio professor would have written a negative letter about you, it's just probably not as glowing as your others may be. I wouldn't call or anything. The schools will probably read them all
