I am a little confused on the letters of evaluation requirements for TMDSAS and was hoping someone on here would have more insight. On the TMDSAS page it says:
"It is recommended that your evaluators be current/former professors that can speak to your academic ability in the sciences."
What do they mean by "recommended?" Is it a soft recommendation, or basically a requirement? I have one letter from an ochem professor, but I wanted to get my other letter from my history of medicine professor. He is staff at a medical school as well as undergrad, but is part of the history department in undergrad.
I am not a science major, so I haven't had many opportunities to take science classes that are less than 200 people or get to know professors very well. Letters from my liberal arts teachers would be much stronger, because they actually know me by name and can speak to my character.
Is not having two letters specifically from science faculty going to keep me out of schools, or will I be fine? Basically, I am wondering how strict their "recommendation" is and would like to know if anyone has been accepted without having two traditional science faculty letters. Thanks so much!
