Hi,
I am wondering what to do in my situation. I have already submitted my AMCAS and completed some secondaries. I have 6 very strong (confidential) LORs (3 science faculty, 1 non-science faculty/research PI, 2 physicians who have supervised me for over a year; all know me well). I began submitting them as individual letters because our pre-med program was in shambles. (I have been spearheading a successful initiative to rebuild it.) As a result of the work I and my team have done, our provost approved a paid advisor and funded program (great news). The weird thing is now I can actually get a letter packet with a cover letter by our new pre-med advisor (which would probably be amazing since I had in bringing her on in this role and have been working closely with her the past few months)...after submitting my individual letters.
I have already requested she write the cover letter and have had Interfolio send her all of my individual LORs just in case.
So...the question is this: Do I...
A) Do nothing (i.e., continue to submit individual letters)
B) Have Interfolio send out her letter as a 6th or 7th letter to school and let the schools know that this is part of a letter packet submitted as individual letters
C) Have Interfolio send out her letter as a 6th or 7th letter to school but not tell the schools anything (i.e., they'll figure it out on their own)
D) Have the entire letter packet sent as a unit (all 6 letters plus the cover letter) by Interfolio through AMCAS to each school even though the schools have already received individual copies of each letter
Any thoughts.... Is the committee letter/letter packet that important? My school has not really offered committee letters in the past, although I believe some students have worked around this by creating their own letter packets and sending them (i.e., get a few faculty together and ask them to put together a packet).
Thanks for your help!
