I am planning on applying to quite a few fellowship programs, can I really expect a program director (or his/her assistant) and my other letter writers to write the letter and then take the time to send out a bunch of letters (having to hassle with addressing all the letters, stamps, etc? Or is the common method to get the letter and send it yourself? Or does the applicant typically never see the letter in the first place? (Someone told me this is a better or more valuable letter?) Thanks for any feedback on how to organize this!!!
