A professor has told me that they will write a letter of recommendation for me for the next cycle. (stupid question I know) How do I submit it? I always thought that the professor had to send it from their university (because its sealed), but on AZPOD's website they mention submitting an "application packet...which includes two letters of recommendation". Does the professor seal the letter, then I have to send in the letter with the application packet? Does it vary by school, for instance some want the letter sent in by the professor while others want it sent by students or with application packets? I have to meet with the professor again to talk about the letter and I don't want to tell them the wrong thing. Also, whats up with application packets if you have to apply online through AACPM? Do you apply to AACPM then schools send you application packets?😕
sorry for the stupid question, but when I look on the different podiatry school's websites it just says "submit letters of recommendation" with no addresses or instructions and I don't want to mess up my application.

At the University in the counseling office they usually have people that take care of all letters of recommendation. The professore writes it, takes it to them, they send it into the schools when you request that they do that, after they have a packet with all your letters you need together. You never see the letter or have it in your hands. At least that's how my school did it, go talk to someone in the counseling office that handles this stuff at your school. When I did it they even gave me a cover sheet to hand to the professore that laid out to the professor what they needed to do, where to send it etc. It's nice if you give the professore a prepaid, pre addressed envelope with it as well.

I provided all my professors with a stamped pre-addressed envelope to the schools of my choice. They took care of the rest.

Be careful with Temple. I sent my letters in at the end of the cycle planning to apply at the beginning of the cycle (which was about 2-3 months away).. They threw all my letters out at the end of that cycle. Maybe it was my fault for sending them in early and being on top of things... I guess they had no way of knowing it was for the following cycle as I could not submit my AACPM application yet for the following year. They also cant store documents indefinitely. But it was pretty frustrating though to have them say they have them, apply, and the next week they are gone. This really turned into a rant. My apologies.

Thanks, I get it now. Also, thanks for the advice on not sending them in too early. That would have made me frustrated as well.
