This might be a stupid question but if I plan on applying to about 60 medical schools will I need each person that is writing me a LOR to write a letter 60 times or can I just ask them to make 60 copies? Also, will it be helpful if I get LOR's from people that I work with and the places that I have volunteered or just from my professors?

Get them from each of those, most schools require or atleast will take letters from clinical experience.
About multiple copies...does your undergraduate institution have a letter collection service? That would be the easy way, since you would only need one copy.

Yeah, use your school's letter of reference service, if possible. They'll send out all of your letters for you so you won't have to worry about the number of copies. If your school doesn't have such a service, there are some online.

Oh, one more thing... you'll be charged a fee for each letter that your school sends out for you.

If you can, use the school service. Though on a few secondaries I note that will cause problems though if you're not using a premedical committee letter or bringing in outside letters.

I know most of my letter writers pretty well and they'll essentially send out however much as I want though for professors.. give them my pertinent information, give them enough money for postage and buy them a nice gift.

No, at UCLA, you don't get charged for each letter...you get charged PER SCHOOL. So, I am applying to 50 and was charged for 50 packets. People get peeved if you ask them for a lot of letters...so go through the LOR service in the Career Center.

good luck.
