Hey all!

I applied for vet school for C/O 2012... for others that did the same or for before... once you get accepted, is there any way to look at the letters of recs that were written for you electronically? I remember checking the box that said to not waive my rights to read the letters. But how do you ever get to look at them? I'm just curious what my letters of recs had to say about me. Thanks for any info! 🙂

I never did find a way to look at the letters of rec that were electronic-only beyond asking the vets to e-mail me a copy. I couldn't find a way to do it on the VCMAS site at all.

You probably need to ask the admissions office of the schools that you applied to. They'll see that you did not waive your right and then they will show them to you.

Definately check with the schools, some dont allow you to see them unless you are already accepted even if you didnt waive your right to see them, ?? Go figure--already accepted--would you really care?

I always thoght that it would be damaging if you did NOT waive your rights, as in, the adcoms would think that you were worried about what the people were saying...? Does it matter if you waive them or not, really?

I've heard that too. My adviser said it reflects pretty negatively on you for that exact reason.

I didn't waive my rights (I would like to take a look at my LORs too).

I don't think it affected me, I got into 2/4 schools applied and waitlisted at 1.

Just curious I said.. 🙂

Open mouth, insert foot. I didnt mean that comment towards you adOggy. I was commenting more on the reasoning of only allowing accepted applicants to look at reference letters. I think anyone who wants to look at them should be allowed to regardless of reason. And waivers are just something else to play with our minds!

Twelve tigers I agree, I asked my refs if I could read their letters and everyone of the them happily agreed, no waiver agreement neccessary.

No worries! Sorry about the mix up. 🙂

I would ask my 3 letters of recs, but now that it's been a while, I feel funny asking them for it. I guess I should have asked for them from the beginning! Oh well... 😛
