letters of update/interest - how often?

i sent a love letter aka letter of interest in early dec. i had gotten waitlisted then (except the letter never said the word waitlist and said they would reconsider me throughout the app season), and i wanted to send in additional updates. i'm not sure about a letter of intent yet, but how often/when would be appropriate to send in updates? would one or two additional letters before a letter of intent in march-ish be ok? monthly/weekly/daily? (obvs kidding on the latter two...) thanks!
