I had my letter writers notified approximately 2 weeks to 1 month ago and yet none of them are in the ERAS mailbox! I need a Xanax.

When is it too late?

It's probably too late when you start getting rejection letters🙄

Seriously though, if you look back over last year's interview invites...the invitations didn't really start rolling until mid October to mid November. I wouldn't sweat it...but as someone from last year stated, it might not be a bad idea to start knocking on doors/emailing as a friendly reminder.

Did you give the letter writers a deadline? You should usually give writers 3-4 weeks to write the letter. Maybe you should email/call them to remind them since it's already been 1 month for one of your letters. You don't want to be stuck trying to get new letter writers at the last minute.

I have 2 interviews in December that stated my application didn't have to be complete until I arrived at the interview.

I only have 1 letter in.

Similar question here...I just decided on a specialty (late, I know!), and had to ask someone for a letter. He wants to know what the "deadline" for getting letters in is to be sure that he can do it on time. Any answers for that? (Application is not yet in!).

I don't know how it is at your school, but here (and I believe many other places) Dean's Letters aren't released until early November, so I've been using Nov 1st as an artificial deadline for my letter writers. My application can't be totally complete before then anyway.

This is true for all programs. ERAS doesn't send out deans letters until Nov 1st.

I am sort of in a similar one here as well. I asked my letter writers back in JULY, and one of them hasn't written his yet. I emailed him a few times and last I heard he said he would have it ready the following week (that was 3 weeks ago). He hasn't answered my emails lately. Should I give up? He was very important to my application and I now he is very busy but realistically speaking, how long does it take to dictate a letter?
10 min. tops?
When should I send the backups?
I have already gotten a couple of interviews and a few denials.
