Hello fellow SDNers

I am a current applicant with all of my applications being reviewed at the moment and no interviews yet. I recently got my grades for my fall semester of senior year and they aren't exactly the best. I received a C,B,B+,A. the C and B were both upper level biochem classes but that doesn't exactly make the situation any better. I am considering sending the schools a letter to inform them of these grades and the classes I plan on taking during the spring.

My question is: if the grades aren't so hot, is it still a good idea to send the letter while my application is still under review with no interview invitations?

Thanks for the help.

Why not just send an update that doesn't include your grades? Make it meaningful though, so include other ECs that you did and maybe what you have lined up for the next spring.

If you're not asked, you don't have to tell. And if you report those grades, you'd be shooting yourself in the foot. I agree with BABSstudent that the focus of your update letter would best lie elsewhere.
