Really important question at the end of 2nd year.
Do fellows in your program ever finish level 2 vascular training? I mean within 3 years fellowship training. If yes, how did they make the 12 months vascular rotation fit into the 36 total months?

What are you shooting for? You can easily fit in NI months to read duplex studies and sit for the RPVI exam, but if your goal is ABVM vascular boards you need a dedicated year. ABVM endovascular boards are still possible to sit for on the basis of your interventional year provided you get enough volume, but that is not a guarantee at most programs. I ended up still doing the 3+1+1 cards, interventional, and vascular/endovascular years to sit for all 3 vascular related boards.

Be careful with vascular numbers for procedures, many programs don't get enough for you to come out at goal credentialling/privilege numbers... The Harvard peripheral programs, for example, have been needing to send their fellows out of state to get carotid numbers. A lot of what you can accomplish from the numbers standpoint will be institution specific. The clinical months component for ABVM is what it is and pretty much requires another year unless your director is willing to get captive n the titles of the rotations (like many IR programs calling all of their months "vascular" even if they are spending big chunks of time doing non-vascular procedures)
