Just a quick lesson in proper English for all the posters who feel the need to use 16 syllable words (out of context mind you) to sound intelligent... yet have not mastered simple grammar rules.

Ie:
Your vs You're
Than vs Then

Incorrect: "because your (insert adjective)"
Correct: "because you're (insert adjective)" (you're=contraction of YOU ARE, your=possessive ie your stupidity--take ownership of it)

Incorrect: "and than she said"
Correct: "and then she said" (then=indicative of time, than=comparison ie your grammar is worse than...

The above-mentioned examples were taken from posts from the last 24 hours that irritated me in content and in their improper, yet pretentious use of the English language.

If you find yourself having difficulty try this out...
I wish you luck... :luck:

Talk about pretentious!

I don't think so. I'm not up here insulting people in all my posts with a thesaurus in my hand. That was my point.

It's gotten extremely annoying for an entire thread to be hijacked by an insulting, arrogant, obstinate poster or troll who tries to use big words but can't use the small ones properly just yet. There we go... I think that clarifies my point.

I'm usually not one to wax obstreperous at schoolmarmish tintinnabulation or deploy floccinaucinihilipilification at missteps in grammatical minutiae, but may I remind you that despite you're superior grammar and holier-then-thou attitude, you will spend next four years in -- where else but New Jersey.

<pedantic grammar hat on>

"i.e." is used to clarify a point trying to be made.

"e.g." is used to introduce examples.

I thought this was one of my funnier replies, but the deafening silence is forcing me to confront the remote possibility that I may not be as funny as I think I am.

That, or my awesome vocabulary and sense of humor left the crowd too stunned for words.

Hey, I laughed, even if I did have to look up "tintinnabulation." 😛
