hey.. i'm a new MD graduate, and ... i was looking over other threads and reazlied that I haven't completed any paperwork to get medical license yet.

infact, i have no idea what applications i need to submit.

basically, what do i have to do as a new graduate ... to get license? all i've done is step 1 and 2. i'll be taking step 3 later this year as an intern.

can someone give me a list of what licenses i'll need? who i'll need to apply to? what is the timeline? any websites to look at?

and btw... without a license, how will i be able to sign prescriptions next month when i'm an intern?

thanks

I think not all states require training certificates as a resident. Perhaps you are in one of those states? Call your program to confirm that you haven't fallen through the cracks.

I'm sure your residency program has sent you paperwork that you needed to submit. sometimes that is sufficient.

In my state at least you can't even apply until you've completed at year of internship so you probably can't either. I think we will be covered under our hospital for our first year.
