hopefully we're talking about 2% lidocaine, and not 2% epinephrine. 😱
first off, depends on where you're putting it and how it gets there. generally, if we're talking local infiltration of dermis (etc) then the only real "reaction" is if you accidentally inject intravascularly and/or if you give a toxic amount. otherwise, true hypersensitivities to amide local anesthetics are so rare they are almost universally reportable. and, in most instances where they've been reported (ie, by patients), it is often later determined to have been either the vehicle or one of the aforementioned side effects. there are some case reports of "true" allergy, and here is one of them...
