So after getting a BSc., I'm going back for a 5th year to re-take a course, take two prereqs I didn't take before, and to boost my GPA a little.

While I could upgrade other courses, I'm not sure I should since my GPA might suffer. That and other issues I'm not going to get into here.

So at this point, I'm only taking 1.5 credits total:

  • 1st term would be 3 hours of class a week with 3 hours of lab every other week.
  • 2nd term would be 6 hours of class a week with 3 hours of lab every week.
I'm really worried about the GPA and overall stress, so that's all I'm taking for certain at this point. It really isn't much, and I'm worried that [Canadian] pharm schools won't take kindly to it, despite the fact that I was a full-time student for 4 consecutive years (5 credits/year).

What do you think? Go with the light schedule and focus on getting high marks? At this point there's three extra courses on my schedule, bumping me up to 3.0 credits. However, I'm taking them as 'fillers' and I'm not particularly motivated to take them.

If the courses are super obvious that they are fillers, I wouldn't do it.

You're preparing for pharmacy school, I think you should get used to a heavy course load.

I can handle heavy course loads just fine (in fact, I prefer them).

It's the GPA I'm worried about.

Ah, I assumed you didn't like the stress of a heavy schedule.

Why don't you just tell us your GPA so we can make a worthwhile response?

Since one of your reasons for doing a 5th year is to boost your GPA a little, I would do whatever is necessary to accomplish that.

Since my last post, I've really confused myself even more. I've always been bad at picking courses, and this year is no exception.

In fact, this year is worse since it's the first time I won't be at a full course load, which makes me feel insecure and "out of the loop", despite the fact that it's more or less normal because I've already completed my degree.

I think if I knew my own academic limits, choosing courses would be a whole lot easier. Problem is, even after 4 years, I still can't predict what sort of course load would be optimal for me. 🙁

But I'm definitely running out of time. Classes start in a few days... :scared:

I'm sorta like that... That is, I never really know what courses I'm going to do well in.

You could just take a few more classes and drop out later if you feel you're suffering. (Probably loose some money in the process:S)
