I find that being a pre-med can be difficult enough without having to deal with being a light sleeper and noise problems. I have found a way to deal with almost every kind of noise except for bass which primarily comes from music and television.

Who has an effective solution? Can you be specific?

(I tried ear plugs and noise-reducing, not "noise canceling" ear muffs, and they didn't work for bass. Maybe I just bought the wrong kind, maybe that's the wrong strategy...)

I have almost always been a light sleeper, I usually put a pillow over my head and silently stew with anger, seems to work okay. I recently moved into a big city though and now, despite living in a much noisier environment, I have become a much deeper sleeper. So maybe just try to condition yourself?

Not the most environmentally friendly option, but leaving a fan on for white noise can help.
