Line Counting Obsolete on Top Front End?

For those just taking the DAT recently, is the line counting method for top-front end truly obsolete? If so, how did you conquer this part?

I'd like to know as well. TFE makes me cringe.

There were a few questions where the only way to answer them was counting lines, and matching up the solid with the dotted. However, the majority had the same number of lines and it is more seeing where each object is and what it looks like. For example seeing from the first two that the object in the back only goes half way up and half way across so there should be a dotted line half way up and across. I found bootcamp to be very helpful in trying to picture the object. If i got it wrong I would keep looking at each until I could picture it then i would look at the 3D image. I sucked badly at first but got a lot better through practice and started looking forward to TFE

Line counting can work to eliminate answers but usually won't eliminate everyone.
