guys can anyone give an example of this concept bcz i am confused where it occur? during formation of embryo or what...? 2 pair of allele form who ?same person...? plz i nedd an explanation

I didn't understand it until I got the question about it in U world. It doesn't "occur" during anything, it refers to the genetic chance in a population. Assume you have 2 alleles - allele A and allele B. The probability of Allele A occurring (lets say brown hair) is 20%. The probability of allele B occurring (lets say brown eyes) is 30%. In a given population, the chance of someone having both allele A and B (brown hair and blue eyes) is 20% x 30%, or 6%. However, if there is linkage disequilibrium, the probability would be higher - lets say 20%. Therefore, the chance of A-B occurring is GREATER than expected by chance, hence linkage disequilibrium. Hope this helps!
