Lipscomb University class of 2016

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hallo guy ,
My name is John. I am having a plan to apply to LIPSCOMB University of Pharmacy . i knew you already accepted . So , Can you give me some advices how to apply there( interview questions that i should know or concern? how about the GPA and PCAT ? how is the paper work ? pharmacy experience? and i hope you can response me . thanks

This school is a very family friendly school from the process and through the interview. I am glad i was accepted. i posted some tips on the interview feedback section, navigate from the homepage u will c it. i had cGPA 2.96, sGPA 2.98, pcat 56 and bunch of pharmacy experience in different setting as a certified pharm tech. U get to write an essay during ur interview, don't worry it's easy. They were my first choice.

Hey, can someone tell me if we need to submit a "supervisor letter of recommendation" before our application is considered complete? I have 3 reference letters (2 academic letters and a character reference) but not one from a supervisor. I was wondering if I still met this requirement or not?

I don't think so. I used 2 professors and 1 coworker

ok thanks! Hey, has anyone heard of any other interview invites or interview dates? I haven't heard a peep from Lipscomb ever since they received my January PCAT scores......

I didn't have a supervisor LOR at the time I applied either and it was fine. I know the last interviews were last week or the week before. I'm not sure when the next ones are but you may want to call and ask!

Thank you all for all of the info! I called and was told that my application is currently under review. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Who said they were gonna create a FB page for CO 2016? Pls do so ASAP

They sent out an email today regarding the Orientation date, unfortunately, it was a false email. I'm still sitting on lava waiting for the mailed letter.

I just called Laura and she said I'm in deferred decision. So what happens after a deffered decision?

I have an interview on march 8th. I was wondering for the people that have decided to attend... What helped you make the ultimate decision? I had an interview at Belmont on feb. 17th and loved it. If I am accepted before my interview at Lipscomb, should I still interview?

If you enjoyed Belmonts interview but havent completely made up your mind, I would still attend the interview at Lipscomb. I think you will have a harder decision after interviewing there as well.

Hey guys! Could anyone that's been accepted or had an interview tell me their stats? I haven't heard much from them and was curious to see how my fellow applicants are fairing. I called the other day and spoke with a very sweet woman named Kathryne and she said my application was still under review. I hope and PRAY that is a good sign considering my PCAT score was considerably better in January and they'd just recently received it. I know there are three interview days left, does anyone know when they are? How about notification time for those of you who've had an interview... When did the invite come and was it email or letter? I'm on pins and needles, as I'm sure the majority of you guys are. For those of you reading this, I will be praying for His will to be done in all of our lives and that He will give us peace during this monumental time! Good luck to all of you!! Any answers to these questions or ANY helpful tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Yeah i called too and they said the email was meant for accepted students. Those in limbo keep ur fingers crossed cos they good news maybe on the way

Hey everybody, I am new to this forum. I am going to apply to Lipscomb and Belmont this upcoming August. I have not taken the PCAT yet but I will this summer. Can anyone please send me their STATS if they got accepted?? I want to know what people had when they got accepted to give me a better idea.
THANKS!

No news from anyone yet??? I called them last week and was told that my app is still in review! hoping the best for myself and everyone else!

Just keep praying and keep ur fingers crossed, it's coming. Anyone else accepted and attending?

It is in the works, it just has not gotten a foothold with the people assigned to the task as of yet. We have just completed the second set of block exams, which you will come to love, so hopefully they will be able to roll it out soon.

How were the block exams?
Some of the faculty could not fathom themselves preparing for these block exams....The biggest thing is to not let yourself fall behind. For me its 2 weeks of pre-test prep followed by 1 week of recovery. This last block we had 6 exams over 2 weeks. It doesn't sound too bad now, but there are other assignemts that have to be completed in between. As long as you take on the assignments when they are assigned, rather than waiting, you will be in decent shape.

Wow, 6 exams in 2 weeks? This is gonna be fun and crazy with assignments in between? Procrastination is gonna be a killer for anyone who likes it. Get ready guys were r in for it

Man are they even issuing interview invites? The thread seems to have died down. The email said the invite would come by phone call.....

Busta, what should we expect at the orientation in May?

If you want to get a head start on finding living arrangements, get a look at the area, register for classes, and see some of your new faculty... by all means you should attend. You will have access to media site and be able to watch all of the presentations prior to classes starting.
Short... Get your vaccinations in order.
You will need 2 TB screens within 2 weeks of each other.
You will need to get a drug screen within 30 days of start of classes.
You will need to get a background check.
It is pretty much the same orientation you will recieve when you report in August.
In short, you will be glad you did it before August, but you will kick yourself because there will be very little new information when you start classes and "have" to listen to it again.

When you said get my vaccinations order do u mean i should be working on them now or wait till i get there?

Your Hep B series will take at least 3 mo. (absolute earliest). You will need to have all your vaccinations certified. So make sure you know who gave it to you and when so they can sign off on them.
You will need your childhood series of vaccinations.
TB for 2 tests must take less than 17 days. Last year the nurse on campus did this for $20 per test (cheaper than co-pay)

If you are going to live on campus (dorm rat) you should get the meningitis vacc.

Hep B is the only one that takes any time. If you are sadistic, you can get the majority of your vacc's and boosters in one sitting. If you don't know if you have had 2 pertussis vacc, you will probably need your Tdap. A month after you start, you will be undergoing Vaccination Certification. By October, you will be certified to give vaccinations under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. So you will then know all you ever wanted to about vaccines.

Can anybody who interviewed send me information regarding the interview? This will be my first interview. The interview feedback section wasn't much help. E-mail is best, [email protected]. I am scheduled to interview for this coming Thursday. Much appreciated.

Hello, I got accepted in Jan. and was super excited I can't wait to meet you all.

Congrats Class of 2016. I look forward to meeting you all. Join the LUCOP facebook page and begin networking, looking for potential roommates, or even getting free stuff from the 4th year students that are graduating.

Best,
-Rod

Did any accepted student get the latest email? Laura also created our official FB page and she will be the one to grant access
