some of this is personal preference but there seems to be a consensus on much of it. for example i have heard that kaplan's stuff is very good for biochem, i also found it to be good for neuroanatomy (is there any other good subsections of kaplan stuff?)

here's what i have so far, please add to it:

Pathology - Goljan Audio/Rapid Review/BRS
Physiology - BRS
Pharmacology - First Aid enough?
Biochemistry - Kaplan
Microbiology- MRS
Neuroanatomy - Kaplan/MRS
Behavioral Science - ?

For Pharmacology, I really found it difficult to memorize the information from FA and then just apply it on the test. I would find some Pharm practice questions and do them.

Behavioral- Both BRS/HY Behavioral Science is good. They are both virtually the same text except one is newer than the other and BRS has a bunch of practice questions.

So you used Kaplan Phys in place of BRS or in addition? and i haven't heard of Young, how does it compare to MRS? Thanks for your input.

p.s. i like ur avatar - it's a shame that arrested development was taken off, that was a great show

For the Young book, I feel like I can testify for it. I go to SLU Med, which is where Dr. Young teaches, and most of his class nots were directly from that book. I used that book to study as well as did questions from USMLE world and had NO problems with the questions. That book is GREAT for lesions. There is a great section in the back that helps identify lesions. At the same token, you can probably get all that info out of HY Neuroanatomy. But I personally liked the Young book.....clearly I'm biased.

Yeah, I used Kaplan instead of BRS. I didn't use any BRS books, but I did use their micro and pharm flashcards. I used both Young and HY neuro. I think they're both very good, and it doesn't take long at all to get through HY.
