Estradiol (Vagifem) can be added to that list.

Also, alprostadil (Muse) urethral suppositories are available.

Thanks! Though I am a little suprised and sad to see that the list isn't actually longer... I had totally been expecting for someone to say that most drugs had a suppository formulation..

We can compound suppositories and mold them into that perfect shape for insertion.

OMG I will think of pharmacists as near gods if this is true! Will they still work for any drug? What about absorbtion and metabolism?

I dont want to work with cancer patients.. can you compound any other drug and have it work and be absorbed and have biotransformation work out and all?

Obviously, there might be some toxicity issues, as it avoids first pass metabolism. But for the most part, the answer is yes. A pharmacist (hopefully one that has a good amount of experience compounding) will be able to make up some suppositories. Keep in mind that absorption can be erratic due to interference with fecal matter, etc. (Jeez, I sound like Dr. B)
