I'm sure this exists, I just don't know where to find it.

I'm looking for a list of all med careers and the total time it takes to get the degree (ie. 4yr under + 4 yr med + 2 yr res + 1 yr fellowship). Format (I made up the lengths, I really am not sure):

Dental 4yr under + 4 yr med + 2 yr res
Ortho 4yr under + 4 yr med + 2 yr res + 1 yr fellowship

I'm not sure what I want to do yet, and although the time it takes to get a degree isn't a big deal, I feel like it will help me in balancing pros/cons.

Thanks in advance.

I'm really not sure if there is a website, but I generally hear dental school is four years undergrad, four years dental school, and then you're done and are ready to practice, though you have the option of doing a residency/internship, etc. I think pharmacy school is the exact same. I've heard of accelerated dental and pharmacy programs (three years, I believe)

In medicine you need four years undergrad, four years of medical school, and a minimum of three years residency (internal medicine, family medicine, peds, etc.) I believe you can technically practice medicine with just one year of residency (internship), and practice as a general practitioner, but you are then either limited as to where you can practice. I think hardly anyone chooses this route these days.

I'm not sure about optometry or podiatry.

The other thing you might need to consider is the varying nature of the education. I really don't know much about pharmacy or dental, but in graduate medical education, you are getting paid (albeit not super well) once you're done with your fourth year. In something like a Ph D program, you also get paid to be there. In most other education that's not true. Paying in v. getting paid changes the nature of "studentdom". I'd gladly sign on to a 12 year degree program if they gave me 100k a year to do it 🙂
