List of non pcat schools?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
use the search option on the title bar-

what is the hyperlink?

If the schools are in blue color, then they participate in PharmCAS and you can actually click on the schools for more info. The ones in gray are not part of PharmCAS.

thank you very much.
and when you say that "they participate in pharmcas" you mean that this school requires the PCAT?

People are confusing non-PCAT schools with non-PharmCAS schools. Here is a list that will tell you which PharmCAS schools do not require the PCAT: http://www.pharmcas.org/collegesschools/AAGRequiredTestsT.htm

You can use the AACP website to search schools by PCAT requirement, program length, tuition, etc.: http://www.aacp.org/issi/membership/survey_psar.asp?CID=104&TrackID=&TrackID&TrackID=

I am cofused.... what is PharmCas ?
does not it mean that nonPCAT achool equals to non pharmCas ?

PharmCAS is an pharmacy school application service for a number of US schools that collects transcripts, letters of recs, etc. It's completely different from PCAT.

The schools that participate in PharmCAS may or may not require PCAT. PharmCAS is a system that makes it easier on us applicants when it comes to mailing transcripts, test scores, and letters of rec to one headquarter. The headquarter then mails it to your designated schools. This way, you don't have to mail them to each PharmCAS school and you may save a bit of $$$ (especially if you apply to a lot of schools). You will have to do this yourself and mail them directly if you plan to apply to the non-PharmCAS schools.

The AACP Website isn't always current. Albany, LIU, and St. Johns Fisher require the PCAT this year. Others might not be up to date either. For FAMU there's no PCAT, but you have to take the GRE.

albany college do require pcat, correct me if i am wrong

Add new mexico to that list of schools requiring pcat

Bump useful thread. I decided to apply to South University and Campbell University this year...too bad they both require PCATS...🙄

Still studing? You said january right? I am expecting a 99% from you😀.

Hahahaha...I WISH! I suck at standardized exams...I studied for two months straight 6-8 hours a day for the DAT and made a 94%. Now I have a job so I am studying a lot less...Still studying but LESS...so not sure what I will get...I am done with gen chem and biol...I am on the Organic chem section chapter 3...still have not studied for the math or verbal yet!! I am scared b/c Jan 24 is right around the corner!!!
But I called South and they say they consider anyone with a 60 or above...but I think they are just saying that to get my application fees...🙄 but I am still appying bc if I get in I will graduate 2012!!! 😀

WHen are you going to decide if you are pre pharm or pre dent or pre med or CRNA???? tell me! hehe..

Cross out CRNA on that list and replace it with Podiatry😀. And yes you will be the first to know.

oh also add pre-vet, pre-opto, pre-law (I would do this if my english didn't suck so badly haha...) and maybe even pharm sales rep? 😉
podiatry doesn't sound so good...Opto sounds better...NO blood and no patient contact if you work at Walmart or sears! (but I have a friend thats pre Opto and she says that u need to know a lot of physics to do that though...NOT FUN! thats why I didn't do it haha...)

Pre opto. Nah not for me, i would do MD optho. Go for it don't be scared of physics. Decide look into eyes ( hrmm that does not sound so bad if its a beautiful woman😀), or fill scripts?

haha...if Pharmacy doesn't work out for me I will try Pre opto. However physics really is my weak point...I withdraw from Physics II (calculus based) TWICE and finally decided to take the water down physics II (algebra based)...🙄

I just e submitted my application today...applied to South, Mercer and Campbell.

If you are not afraid or completely GROSS OUT (like I am) of blood, bad breath, and touching people...then I would do dentistry if I were you. That field really does have a great potential to make a lot of $$$. 😉

Cal based physics is not necassary unless you plan to do engineering. Nah i dont get grossed out easily. Dentistry seems good i dont like the fact that i dont have an instate school🙁. We shall see.

Yeah, in state is the ONLY way to go. I cannot believe I went to Columbia and considered paying 300K to pull teeth for the REST of my life!!! 🙄 Yeah, I would NEVER pay anymore then 100K (including living expenses) for my schools ever again. That is just crazy! But yeah, private dental schools cost around 300k. NYU cost around 400K. I just can't imagine owing that much and pulling teeth for the rest of my life to pay that back...just crazy! Even if my Dad was Bill Gates...I wouldn't ask him to give me 300K for dental school...I will just ask him for 300K CASH so I can invest and start a business...

You should move to Texas...their in state dental school is very reasonable. Which state do you live in? Uath?

GA and SC residents have it well too. GA dental don't accept any out of staters which = less competition! I think you should move there ASAP! 😉

Yea, Albany College of Pharmacy does require the PCAT's this year. I asked admissions about it. However, it is their first year and they are still evaluating it.

Yeah, the list is old. Albany requires the PCAT now and so does Hampton. Touro also say that they will be requiring the PCAT next year as well. Evenuallly this list will diaspear and ALL schools will require PCAT and maybe even a Bachelors degree.
