I cancelled Wayne State and Henry Ford. They were offering on Wednesdays and Saturdays (respectively) and I just could not justify the cost of two separate trips to Detroit, mainly because it was already geographically low on my list and I feel like I've gotten enough interviews that I can be a little confident I'll get in somewhere more geographically appealing to me. Otherwise, if they'd have been back-to-back, I probably would've gone. Nothing against the programs.

I cancelled Baylor b/c I'm fr. East Coast, just heard that the weather there is too hot in summer, traffic terrible, etc. So mostly geographic & weather.

Thinking about cutting Wash U from my list. Just can't bring myself to calling them to cancel. Anyone out there think it's a good program? I've heard 2 dozen times on the interview trail that they are worked pretty hard......but very happy.

Great program. I would not cancel it. St. Louis has a bad rap, but in actuality it's a pretty cool place if you know where to go. Besides, working hard in anesthesia never means you would be pushing 80 hours on a weekly basis throughout your 3/4 years and being happy during residency is key. You get your plane ticket paid for too. I don't think you have anything to loose and may have a lot to gain.

Solid program poopy location. If you are married then it shouldn't be a big deal. No call for first 6 mo, tons of OR's going all the time with cutting edge procedures, great CV ICU experience, new ambulatory center, etc. I liked it there but I just couldn't bring myself to kicken it with the giant arc for 3 years.
