List of schools for applying broadly

Does anyone see any schools that I should absolutely cross off the list here? I have a low oGPA, good BCP GPA, and decent DAT (22 AA, 25 PAT). I'm a non-trad NY resident, took all the prereqs + upper level bio courses after graduating in 2010 (19 credits away from a 2nd bachelors in biology), and have 100+ shadowing hours, broad and varied work experience & volunteering.

List is sorted by tuition cost, excluding cost of living/extra fees:

Stony Brook <-- state school, a stretch with my GPAs, but I want to give it a shot
U Buffalo <-- same as above, maybe a bit more likely because of larger class size, slightly lower avg. GPAs
U Mich
Pitt
LECOM
Marquette
Creighton
Uconn
Temple
UNLV
Nova SE
ASDOH <-- I don't have thousands of hours of volunteering, is this an issue?
UCSF
UMDNJ
Case W.
UNE <-- new schools make me a little nervous, but I visited last time I was in Maine and got good vibes from faculty

I attached a mini excel spreadsheet of "quick stats" for each school (location, avg DAT, gpa, sgpa, % OOS int/accepted, tuition, etc)

Looks similar to my list, I would take out Loma, they require a LOR from a spiritual advisor or whatever they call it.

What exactly is a 'low' oGPA? UCSF is largely in-state and OOS folks generally have higher stats (your DAT is good though!). Creighton appears to accept a decent number off OOS, but in reality, a lot of those OOS students are from surrounding states or states that participate in that WICHE thing. I don't think you'd have a strong shot being OOS from NY. I'd remove NYU too. If you're already saying it's out of your price range, then why bother dropping $120+ for the primary/secondary to there? Take yourself out for a nice steak dinner with that money saved.

Good point about Creighton, I may forego that one. As for NYU, I'm planning on sitting down and figuring out finances within this next month and seeing if NYU really is beyond the budget - I'll keep it on or remove it accordingly. A filet does sound good, though...

My overall GPA is in the pits at 3.15, but my BCP GPA (consisting entirely of post-bacc credits) is 3.70. I'm planning on completing the second Bachelors degree over the next year, which will likely raise my GPA a bit more. In the event I don't get in this coming cycle, I want to prove that I've continued to work on my weaknesses.

Unless you're opposed to living in Kentucky, I'd consider adding Lousiville and/or Kentucky to your list as they seem OOS friendly and a lot of your numbers are above their mean.

UCSF (Could group this with HPSP group but you get in-state before end of D1. They accept a good number of OOS. I'm speculating but I think UCSF used to emphasize numbers a lot more when Bertolami was dean (before '05). Featherstone seems to be more forgiving with respect to numbers and more willing to emphasize passion/well-roundedness. Liked this school.)

With a low GPA I would recommend applying to the schools that UCSF wouldn't. They are newer and tend to be easier to get into.

With a low GPA I would recommend applying to the schools that UCSF wouldn't. They are newer and tend to be easier to get into.

Other than those two options, are there other tuition forgiveness/reimbursement options you can suggest?

Since BCP is weighed more heavily I do think you'll be fine, even with that low of an oGPA, especially if you're gonna try to raise it a bit. Still, the cycle is unpredictable and applying broadly is your best bet.
