List of silent rejections?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Medical school admissions offices don't owe you or anyone else closure. You're playing their game, not the other way around. To call it disrespect is a bit much.

I disagree with this attitude. I think a lot of what people do to make the world better wouldn't be considered "necessary" or "owed" from a moral standpoint. Doesn't mean it isn't the better thing to do.

Hofstra and WVU reject by email
Harvard, Columbia, Yale, Duke all wait until the end of their app cycle to reject

Stanford, Hopkins, Cornell, Penn, UCSF, Vanderbilt, and Pitt reject in waves

This is not a comprehensive list, just what I could think of off the top of my head.

I was at the point on losing my hope for MD school because after all this time 14 out of 17 schools have been silent. However, no communication doesn't always correlate with a silent rejection. Just got my first MD II a couple of days ago and hope is still lingering in my life. So, for all of those out there still waiting to hear, don't get discourage because of the abundance of silence.

I received an email from Penn and UAB basically saying "maybe". They were still "considering" my app. NYMC, hofstra, Oakland, Arizonas, UWV rejections. Still haven't heard anything from FL schools and I'm a FL resident.

I also haven't heard a drop from FL schools. I'm a GA resident but I work in FL.

The only schools in Florida that I've heard from were the DO schools, they seem pretty good about keeping the process as transparent as possible.

Somebody add Duke to the list because they've now completed all interviews. Anyone who hasn't received an II before the 13th of February have been (silently) rejected, according to the woman on the phone. They encourage anyone else interested in duke to reapply in the future if they still have interests in Duke medical school.

Oh, and they also thank you for your time, your long, sophisticated essays, your voice messages, and of course, all of your donations to the school. It's a good thing most applicants believed they had a shot in getting an II due to their history of accepting students with a GPA ranging from "2.8 and 4.0". (I added this last paragraph in myself!) ^-^

I have to disagree with some of these as being "silent". If you read the Northwestern Thread there was a massive bloodbath just last week. Rejections were loud and far-reaching. There were so many reported that they almost filled 2 pages.

Not gonna lie, I will take my saltiness about writing a freaking autobiography for them and then not getting a II to my grave.
