Hey everyone,

My undergrad has not listed my AP scores on my transcript. I only took 1 semester of statistics and want to show that I have a 5 for BC calc from high school to show that I've done calculus before!

My school suggested I could list AP Calculus as a course under freshman year but leave the credit hours and grade fields blank. I've been told also to make sure not to click the “AP” box for special course type. This is more of a heads up to med schools, not a “course” that you are asking AMCAS to verify.

Do folks agree with this approach or is it better to leave the AP calculus score off?

OP, why not just take calc III?

I doubt they are going to care about the score. You should check with individual schools' requirements though because some don't accept AP credits for pre-reqs even if you scored a 5 on the exam.

From my understanding, the actual AP score doesn't matter. What matters is whether your college thought the score was high enough that they awarded you a passing grade (P) for X credit hours for Calculus. If your college doesn't give course credit on your official transcript for doing well on the AP exam, then AMCAS won't either, regardless of what you enter.

Why not call AMCAS and ask them, if you feel you have a special situation.

Hey everyone, thanks for the responses. I'm actually out of college now that's why I asked the question. AMCAS was vague when I called them saying that we can't verify what you put down since it's not on your transcript and that would show up when the amcas is verified.

I took some time to get call a few schools who require calc and this situation seems to be not a very big deal. They said the AP is fine even if it's not on the transcript. I just wanted to put it on amcas to prove my proficiency in calc, and the med schools all seem on board with that.
