Now im home and trying to do it myself and im not even exaggerating im holding back tears right now bc im getting so frustated i feel so stupid
just posting this to vent
so pissed offf
UGH
blah
ive been studying so long and hard for all my other subjects and ifeel like i can do well on it and now i just think even if i get good scores on my other sections my stupid PAT score is going to **** me over

I think there's something about the DAY... I am feeling miserable about all the subjects today....my exam is in little over a week and i dont feel like I remember anything...

This is what I would recommend for TFE...open TFE section of any of the CDP test that you have already taken... see the answer choices (the 3D object) and and then draw all the three views...by looking at the object... do this for several problems till u can figure out...which line becomes dotted and which remains solid and why...

Good luck dude..

I am so pissed off with studies i feel like throwing everything out....

Trust me when I say this, it gets easier with practice. I kept putting of PAT studying until about a week ago, and when I started, I was like holy crap! After doing TFE, hole punching and pattern folding, I felt as if the gene that codes for the processing of images was deleted at child birth for me. lol.

The PAT totally killed my confidence, as I was doing well on the sciences. I would recommend going through one test very slowly using CDP. Also, check out the Wicked PAT thread http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=528643&highlight=My+wicked+PAT+Tutorial
First understand what you are suppose to be doing, then practice. I first started and it took me 1.5 hours to do one test, the second one took about over an hour, the third I went 10 minutes over, the fourth finished with 5 mins left, and the last one I had 15 minutes left to review my stuff. My scores were 21, 18, 20, 18, 21. I went from missing many keyholes and TFE to getting most of them right. However, in the same process figured out how to totally mess up my hole punching and angles

Yea, I remember the first time I saw TFE I was like WTFFFFF? And the first few CDP tests, I just literally guessed every time because there was just no way I remotely understood the dotted lines, the slants, etc. And even reading the wickedPAT tutorial, I kiiiiind oooof understood line counting, but definitely not enough to solve problems on my own.
And then, one day (maybe last week or something) it just went click. So don't stress out about it.
Leave it alone today and tomorrow, and then come back with a fresh head and it'll happen for you and it will be amazing.
Now, pattern folding and keyholes on the other hand can suck it!

To the OP have you looked at this thread?
http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=528643&highlight=My+wicked+PAT+Tutorial

I did not get TFE until I understood this thread completely. On the first DAT i took I actually marked and skipped all 15 TFE like a ***** thinking if I left it to the end it would get better. Yeah, it didn't.

The key is to not get frustrated. Keep practicing. Run TFE sections alone for a while on CDP until you can see whats going on. Often a TFE can seem super complex but in reality just one tiny detail will solve it for you. Generally my first scan of details can narrow it down to 2 choices, then you look for the differences between the 2 narrowed choices and guess what? You see where they are different and which one matches the puzzle. Keep it up, and it will get better!

I highly suggest you don't count lines. You won't get over low 20's with that method, because for sure, some of the figures on PAT sections will trick you if you just do line counting.

I know how you feel, it's sometimes hard to visualize how the figures are. Concentrate and really try to visualize with all you got.

It really isn't bad, and you will soon realize that TFE is actually the major breadwinner in the PAT section. It is one of the only sections that you know definitely if you got 100%.
