You can accept an IS offer and turn down an offer you have already accepted, even though you've already accepted it. I'd strongly suggest going to your cheapest option (which is likely to be you IS school).
LIU is private and doesn’t differentiate between IS and OOS when it comes to tuition. It’s the same for everyone.
I interviewed on Jan 7th and I got waitlisted. And I think that was pretty early, but not sure if that was the earliest date.

Before the interview, I think it was a week to couple of werks and gave me one option for the date and time. I’m gonna pull my name from the waitlist since I’m gonna go elsewhere. But yeah I think it’s kinda annoying they don’t even tell people if waitlisted or not. I hope they do it soon.
We’re you notified of your waitlist? I believe I was in the first or second group of interviews and I was notified around Feb that I was waitlisted and then again at the beginning of April how high on the waitlist I was, and then was pulled off yesterday morning. I’m declining my spot but they gave me until April 20 to send in my decision
That’s how my case is too. I was in the last group to interview and got waitlisted in February and haven’t heard since.
So they were informing people who were high on the waitlist already that they’d be given a spot soon?

Same, they said the class is almost full. Did they tell you where you were in the waitlist? I’m curious how many spots they have left.
I haven’t heard anything since I was waitlisted. I put my deposit down somewhere else, so at this point I kinda forgot about liu and just not really liking the no communication so I’m gonna email and take my name off the waitlist anyway.
How do you know that the class is almost full? I’ve been told i’m in the middle of the waitlist and that I’m probably not gonna hear till summer.
The email just stated whether we were in the top, middle or bottom of the waitlist. And they asked to not ask for any more information.
“The class has not been completely finalized but it is close that means that names will be selected from the waitlist as seats become available”
Mine said “You are midway down the wait list meaning there is still possibility that you will receive an offer but the offer will not come until later this summer if at all.” I wonder what the bottom part said
Just wondering isnt normal for most schools to not keep you updated if your waitlisted? The school I was waitlisted they never sent any update expected when I personally emailed them.
Oh definitely. But with liu they said in the email to first tell me that I was waitlisted that around April 15 they would tell me if I was in the upper, middle or lower areas of the waitlist. And I saw others here getting those emails the other day and I was wondering why I hadn’t. So I was thinking it’s cuz I was next on the waitlist anyway.

I was in the same boat as you just a few hours ago. I noticed that since the 15th LIU sends out some acceptances from the waitlist and then gives those folks 3 business days to accept/decline. Then they send out more acceptances on the following day, presumably until the class is full. So the round of people who will get pulled is probably 05/03.
I have not heard any updates in the last 2 weeks so I appreciate this
some people may not be on facebook so that would account for a few more seats
