I'm looking for places to stay at the moment and was wondering what most people's living arrangements are. Do you guys live alone, with roomates if so how many? Condo, apt, house? I'm thinkin of livin alone in a condo (small 1br) but don't want to get loneley either! If I get a condo then kind of unable to move in future. Any suggestions/comments?

Yeah, actually I am wondering the same thing. I was thinking of living alone, but definitely don't want to be isolated! 🙄 Buying a condo seems like it would be more practical than renting for 4 years (depending on the cost of rent). I'd like to stay in the same place for 4 years as well-moving is a pain! I also don't know who I would room with, seeing as how I probably wouldn't know any of my classmates prior to the first year. Having a roommate might be nice though...any suggestions are appreciated!

Hi there,
If you are a prospective medical student, you are going to have plenty book time so I doubt that you will be "lonely". In fact, if you are putting in the study time, you are probably not going to want to come home and find your non-medical "roomie" yucking it up in front of the telly as you drag yourself off to bed because you have to be up early in the morning.

It is very difficult to be bored or lonely in medicine. You can test the waters by renting alone first and then seeing how that goes. Roomies can be pretty difficult to get rid of and medical students are sought after because we are never home much.

njbmd 🙂
