I just found out I got accepted to BU...😀!! I am wondering if anyone can tell me some tips on where some good places are to live that might be on the cheaper side (<$1,000/month)?

$1000 with a roommate or by yourself? A while ago (2 yrs) I saw a 200 sq ft studio near the Boston commons for $1000 or so.

You will have to share a split 1BR to bring it below $1000. South End, where BU Dental is, used to be ghetto but has turn extremely high end and thus expensive.

What is a decent price for a studio or 1 br for 1 person then? Also, most leases are 1 yr contract. What happen when students graduate in May or June, given they that they signed the contract on sept. 1? Just have to stick it out?

For unfinished lease, you sublease it for a month or two to someone else in the same situation. A really small and really basic 600sf 1 bedroom near Tufts Dental is $1400; and skyrocket from there. I did saw one student live in a bedroom the size of a king bed, sleeping on a twin bed.

Wooohoo! Congrats on getting into BU! We'll probably be in the same class. I've started looking for places near school- mainly looking for a studio, and most places are 1,200/mo. or higher... I've seen really expensive ones, but it seems that if you are ok with living with a roommate, you can def find something for 1000 or less a month.

holy crap. 1300 for a 200sq?????? So that is an ok price?
