- Large class size (105 students)
School 2: UAGM
Pros
- ~$150k cheaper than LLU, with lower cost of living
- Bilingual education (Spanish fluency is a personal goal)
- Small class size (45 students)
- Brand new facility and equipment
- Newer program still under initial accreditation
- Far from home community with limited travel access
Summary
The biggest concern with UAGM is accreditation, but I see it as relatively low risk — they appear on track for full accreditation I believe next year. I genuinely enjoyed Puerto Rico when I visited and came away impressed by the school itself. I've also been learning Spanish for several years and believe bilingual training would meaningfully benefit my career.
Ultimately, finances are the deciding factor. UAGM is significantly cheaper in both tuition and cost of living. Most mentors and peers in my life lean toward LLU as the obvious choice — but something tells me UAGM is the right one for me. Thoughts?
*edit: I will also add that I don't plan on specializing.
