I don't know. I hadn't thought about that. I got the call this afternoon about 5:30, while I was still at work. About 5 minutes before I texted you, kristen, and ryan.

I'm sure I made quite the site, leaned over my desk trying to be incognito while listening to my voicemail. I was quietly going 'OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD, OHMYGOD!' as I listened to Dr. Stowers. I cannot believe I missed his call. I wanted that call so badly!

I don't know what you are planning on doing for housing, but I think that there are still some rooms available in the house I just moved into. It's in Middlesboro, about 10 min from campus and across from a town park. It's a nice house and everything is in good condition. Each bedroom has got it's own bathroom. There is a dog in the house, as well as my cat, but both are very sweet tempered. If you (or anyone else still looking, FYI) are interested, contact [email protected] and discuss it with him.

Yesterday was BUSY!

• Gave my very short 5 day notice at work. Most people were very happy. 1 person, not so much.
• Drove across the state. Became a couple grand poorer.
• Looked at what seemed like a gazillion apartments. In reality, it was 7. Found several I liked, none that totally caught me but I finally settled for 1 at 6am this morning and made the call. I didn't want to be homeless!
• and finally, best for last, I got my acceptance letter! In person. It's a lovely little thing. All unwrinkled and crisp. Gah. Love it!

On the required books, I know some students said that not all were necessary. Are the OMM Books on the Required list useful? Or should I not even bother?

I know one student on here said hers were still in the wrapper. Is that the general consensus for the whole class? Or was it just a personal thing?

And as far as recommended text goes, I know students on here said the BRS stuff was good. Anything else? Is the other texts they recommend useful?

First Aid for the USMLE, 2009
Biochem: Lippincotts Illustrated Review: Biochemistry (MUCH better than the BRS biochem book IMO)
Anatomy: Road Map to Anatomy and Netters
Pathology: Rapid Review Pathology by Goljan (more of a 2nd semester book) -- there is a new one out (yay!!!!!)
Physio: BRS Physio (more of a 2nd semester book)
Pharm: Lippincotts Illustrated Review: Pharmacology OR Katzung & Trevor Review of Pharmacology (2nd semester) -- do NOT buy the behemoth POS they require
Micro: Clinical Micro Made Ridiculously Simple (2nd semester)
OMM: Review of OMT by Saverese, Atlas of OMM by Nicholas and Nicholas (required)
EPC: Bates Guide to Physical Examination (have the 2012ers tell you their horror stories )
Stats: Guide to Epidemiology and Biostats

Your required anatomy texts are different from what we had, so I would defer to a member of the 2012 class.

DO NOT buy the embryo book...it sucks

We are still in the process of finding out grades. There may even be a student or two who have yet to take it. I don't knowif and when stats (and what stats for that matter) will be released, but scores are wrapping up fairly quickly, so stay tuned.

when do you find out class rank status.

Shortly after 2nd year starts.
