Any rotation sites at DCOM that should be avoided? Any one that you would recommend?

Also, does anyone have input on small hospital setting vs larger institution for rotations? I've heard arguments for both sides but was curious what people on here thought.

Not from DCOM, but I can tell you that you will learn more about how to be a doctor by doing your rotations in a team setting. That is, do it with a residency program.

so even if you dont have "hands on" experience necessarily, do it at a place that has a residency program? Everyone keeps going on and on about how they want to be first assists and I get that, but I was confused whether that trumped the quality you would get at a rotation where there's a residency program established

thanks!

Yes. Medical clinical knowledge trumps technical ability, especially at this point in the game. You can do the more hands on rotations later on; if your school gives you third year electives, use them for that. And in my experience, all of the "hands on" stuff has been in the inpatient/team setting.
