Can anybody please explain how to calculate the loading dose??

Loading dose=target concentration *volume of distribution/bioavailability. Target concentration means the concentration you want to achieve in the patient. Hope it helps.

Make sure you always multiply the given v/d with the patients weight in kg before computing...most people mess up on that part

In this example 55kg with target concentration of 8mg/dl and 0.35 volume of distribution and he took the drug IV so presuming that the bioavailability 100 %. this question from NBME 13. what would the answer be??

The answer was 150

.35 * 55= 19.25

19.25 X 8= 154
