Hi, anyone have any good loan agencies? I thought my employer would reimburse me for continuing education classes, but they don't do pre-req's to get in to the degree programs. Hence, I'm forced to take out another loan before applying to Med school and taking out 10 million more loans. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi,
I have been grappling with this question too. I am a non-matric student at the school where I'm taking my pre-reqs (I'm a post-bac). I was told by the finan aid people that I couldn't get a federal loan without being an official second degree student so this quarter I'm taking out a citiassist loan (private loan). I don't feel that good about it as I'll have to start paying the interest while I'm in school but it's my only option as a non-matric. I'm going to apply to be an official student in the winter to qualify for federal loans.

Not sure what is the interest rate you are paying with Citiassist (since it is a private loan?). But what it is worth, check out this web site. http://www.northstar.org/mnpc/LoanTypes.aspx
I initially borrowed money from them for my med school (I returned all my loans, once I got my scholarship).
They don't charge any origination fees or any other fees. Plus they give you few months interest free. They have flexible payment options and as far as I know, they capitalize the interest only once, upon graduation.
Hope this helps.
Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.
Hope to see you as a peer in few years. 😍

You can also compare the rates from major lenders. Good luck!
