I graduated with my BS over 3 years ago, and after a few years of working in the real world, I realized that I should have pursued a career in pharmacy, but thankfully it's not too late?

Aside from the other obstacles that will arise, one is puzzling me right now. How should I go about getting letters from professors? I know that most pharm schools require at least one from your professor. I've tried e-mailing a couple, and so far have gotten no response. I would go to the school and stalk them, but I'm currently living in a different city than the one I attended for my undergrad.

Anyone can think of anything that I should go to ensure that I get at least one decent letter? Should I just mass e-mail every professor that I've ever had? Does it seem to far-fetched to hope that I can still get a letter to apply early for this round?

Thanks for your help!

How long ago did you email them? It's the summer and some professors might be on vacation or away from the office.

Are there any professors where you visited their office hours/spoke with so you made an impression? These are the professors you want to ask. If a professor says yes, make sure you give them your resume and PS so they have something to write with.

You also should check with pharmacy schools to see if they have a time limit on pre-requisites.

There's still time to get your LOR and apply this cycle.

Most (all?) pharmacy schools stipulate that if you've been working for X number of years, LoRs from supervisors can be used in substitute of an academic recommendation (Since asking someone to remember you after having seen 4000 people since you came through their class begs to have slightly disingenuous letters).

That said, I'm not entirely sure how many you can substitute that for (i.e., School X requires 3 LoR total, but only takes 1 supervisor recommendation). E-mailing the schools in question will satisfy your curiosity no doubt. 🙂
